November 7, 2025 - January 3, 2026

This exhibition brings together the work of three Navajo artists from the Beyale family, Wayne, JayCee, and Randall, whose practices span painting, sculpture, and large-scale sandpainting. Rooted in the sacred traditions of Diné culture, their work reflects both reverence for ancestral teachings and a drive toward contemporary expression. Anchored by two large-scale Navajo sandpaintings created by JayCee, the show invites viewers into a dialogue between past and present, ritual and innovation, family and community.

About the Artists

  • JayCee Beyale

JayCee Beyale grew up in the Four Corners area of New Mexico and received his BFA in printmaking from the University of New Mexico. His work is deeply influenced by music, and equally shaped by the integration of traditional Indigenous ideologies with his Buddhist practice. Through his art, he seeks to illuminate core concepts and convictions: the Laws of Movement, Unity, and Impermanence. Beyale’s connection to his Aboriginal culture is central to his artistic practice. His personal identity, background, and pride in who he is and where he comes from remain at the heart of his work. His career as an artist began with the discovery of street art and graffiti, which continue to inform his aesthetic. Working primarily with spray paint and acrylics, Beyale creates paintings and murals that celebrate the fusion of technology and Indigenous culture. He is a founding member of the Creative Nations Arts Collective for Indigenous Artists, based at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder. In addition to co-curating exhibitions and producing events such as the annual Indigenous Arts Fair, Beyale frequently travels throughout the Southwest to collaborate with fellow artists and commissioning organizations on murals and other large-scale projects.

  • Randall Beyale

A native of New Mexico, Randall Beyale is a predominantly self taught Dine’ sculptor, whose works are inspired by his culture and traditions. Also an award-winning artist, his sculptures capture and bring forth the spirit of every stone, each one telling a unique story.

  • Wayne Nez Beyale

Wayne Nez Beyale is a Navajo artist whose beliefs and works are greatly influenced by the teachings of his father, Medicine Man, John Nez Beyale. Wayne was born and raised in northern New Mexico near the ruins of Pueblo Pintado. He draws and paints Native American, Southwest and traditional themes in contemporary style. Realistic and impressionistic styles. He has won numerous awards for his expressive style that uses multiple lines to create the experience of movement. This technique is especially effective in his painting of Native American dancing figures including the Navajo Yei bi’che. Wayne currently resides in Denver, CO.
